ABOUT US

Ismail Yusuf College, is the fourth oldest college of Mumbai, India. “I Y college”, as it is popularly known, is managed by the Government of Maharashtra. It is the oldest college in North Mumbai. It was established in 1930 with a large donation from Sir Mohammed Yusuf Ismail, K.T. on Jogeshwari Hill. The foundation stone was laid by Sir Leslie Orme Wilson, Governor of Bombay in 1924.

Mission

(1) To adhere and further the educational goals enshrined in the NEP-2020.

(2) To cater to the educational needs of all classes of society, especially the economically and socially underprivileged classes and students with special needs.

(3) To preserve and promote the rich heritage of the Indian Knowledge System.

(4) To establish cutting-edge Skill Development Centre and Incubation Centre to enhance practical skills, drive innovation, and support entrepreneurial ventures.

(5) To develop the Centers of Research and Extension activities in all disciplines and to contribute towards the nation’s development.

(6) To elevate the educational, ethical and moral standards of students and teachers to create a center of excellence in higher education in the nation.
